Date: March 27, 2018

The Michigan Muslim Community Council celebrates March 27th as Michigan Muslim Women's Day. Muslim women have contributed much to society especially here in Michigan. We encourage you to check out ISPU's Muslims for American Progress Project to see the unique contributions women have made in Michigan. In honor of this, MMCC has teamed up with local businesses to celebrate all women.

To my beloved Sisters,

I want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions to society, and for the impact that you have on all those around you. My sisters are mothers, grand-mothers, and aunts. My sisters are daughters, grand-daughters, and nieces. My sisters are educators, lawyers, doctors, politicians, and professionals in a variety of careers. My sisters are movers and shakers. My sisters are strong and confident.

In a time where Islamophobia is rampant, and hate crimes are at an all-time high, we are blessed to have so many incredible Muslim Women stepping up and supporting one another. Today we celebrate Michigan's Muslim Women as they should be, and I want to personally thank you for being YOU. You are all beautiful inside and out, incredible people, and most importantly the leaders our community needs.

Sincerely Your Sister,
